post-doctoral research position begins

In mid 2025, the Alan Turing Institute — the UK’s national institute for data science and artificial intelligence — launched a Defence & Security Grand Challenge that sought to commission several research projects relating to the theme of AI Security. I accepted an offer from Dr. Ernesto Jimenez-Ruiz, at City St George’s, Univerity of London, to act as his post-doctoral research assistant on the project he proposed in response to the ATI’s call for proposals. Happily, Dr. Jimenez-Ruiz’s project proposal was accepted by the ATI and the project was commissioned.

Our research pertains to the problem of OWL ontology alignment. Amongst other things, we are exploring ways of integrating LLMs (large language models) with the ontology matching system LogMap in order to boost the quality of the ontology alignments that LogMap is capable of generating.
